Curtis graduates from Seminary!

On May 15th, Curtis graduated from Covenant Theological Seminary! He spent three years working hard for this day to arrive, and he finished with the highest honors, Summa Cum Laude. Curtis now has his Master of Divinity! He had most of his family with him to celebrate this milestone in his life: his wife (me), his parents, one of his sisters, one of his aunts, my parents, along with several professors and friends. Chuck Colson was the speaker at his commencement, giving an excellent message on making the invisible kingdom visible.

We had several celebrations on behalf of his graduation, including a lunch with both sets of parents at our apartment and a cookout with a few of his good friends and their families.

We also celebrated by having a nice Italian dinner at The Hill with our families. The night ended with a McDaniel family game of Rock Band 2. Here's a picture of Karen (Curtis' mom) and I playing the drums together.

It was a treat to see my parents because I hadn't seen them much since Curtis and I got married last June. My dad had never been to St. Louis before, so we spent some of the weekend showing my parents around the area including the St. Louis Zoo, Ted Drewes Frozen Custard, and Grant's Farm.

I was very fortunate to have four days off during my busy season at work to celebrate Curtis' wonderful accomplishment! I am so proud of him! It was great to spend a weekend with both of our families and make lots of really sweet memories.

Megan's Graduation

Last week, Curtis & I traveled to Anderson, Indiana to celebrate the graduation of his sister! Megan graduated from Anderson University with her Bachelors degree in Music Business.

We had a great time with Curtis' side of the family. We also got to meet Megan's fiance (Joe)'s side of the family because they prepared a cookout in Megan's honor right after the graduation commencement.

While we were all together, we also got to celebrate Curt (Curtis' father)'s 50th birthday. Here's a picture of Curt's new Cardinals hat that we gave him for his birthday.

We also had the privilege to be with them on Mother's Day. Heather, Curtis' younger sister, created a beautiful slideshow with each family member explaining why Karen (Curtis' mother) was such a wonderful mom written on a heart. It even included their newest member of the family, Belle, their dog. Karen loved it!

The weekend was fun and quick! Curtis had to study for finals on the way to and from Indiana, which made the trip challenging. One final goofy picture to end this post:
