Margaret's 1st Cardinals Game

Last night, we went to the Cardinals vs. Cubs baseball game. I (Margaret) was really excited because it was my first Cardinals game! We went to the game as part of Curtis' birthday gift...but also just because we wanted to do something fun. I've been in St. Louis for about 11 months now, and I was excited to finally be able to go. You can tell by the extremely cheesy face I have in this picture.

Now that I'm in the second round of "busy season" at work, it is difficult for Curtis and I to spend time together, so we try to enjoy the little bit of time that I have available together. I've been working every day until about 9 or 10pm, and next week I'll start working on Saturdays. Thankfully, my direct supervisor understands the significance of the Sabbath, so I will at least have Sundays off.

We had standing room only seats, which was kind of a bummer, but eventually we were able to sit in better seats as the innings went on. The Cardinals won 4-3, it was a close game! I had a great time and I will remember this for a while! Now that we are thinking we may be in St. Louis longer, we hope to go to more baseball games together. :)

An Exciting Weekend!

This weekend was one that will be remembered for a while in our family. My (Curtis') sister, Megan, got engaged on Friday! Her fiance, Joe, flew down to Disney (where she is doing an internship) to surprise her and propose. She was totally caught off guard and was thrilled at the proposal. My parents were able to fly down and be there with both of them. They had a great weekend and were able to have a lot of fun celebrating their new engagement! We are both very excited for them as they start their lives together. :)

Curtis celebrated his 25th birthday on Saturday. I (Curtis) played in the seminary basketball tournament in the morning and then spent the day with Margaret opening gifts and relaxing. I had some great gifts from friends and family, and we spent some time enjoying them, especially Rock Band 2 that Margaret got me. We then went out to eat that night and then watched a movie. Margaret even made a wonderful birthday cake for me that was delicious (the rose was for her though ;)! It was a great birthday and we all had a great time.

On Sunday, we had the privilege of seeing our new Senior Pastor at the Kirk-of-the-Hills. Mark Kuiper and his family worshipped with us as he preached in the morning services. We then had a congregational meeting that night and elected him as the next senior pastor. We’re both very excited to see how the Lord has provided for our church, especially since we haven’t had a senior pastor in 2 ½ years! Whether we are here to see him in action or not, we look forward to seeing how God uses this man and his family to do great things!

So, this was a big weekend for us! We’re thankful for the weekend and are looking forward to seeing how God continues to work in the coming months!

The Death of a Good Friend

This is the last time that I saw my good friend, Ben McCollum, before he passed away on March 30, 2009. He had Cystic Fibrosis for all 21 years of his life. Although this picture was taken at my wedding, I look forward to seeing him again when Jesus comes back and marries his bride (the church) at that beautiful wedding celebration [Revelation 19]. I miss you Ben-jammin'! I praise the Lord you are finally out of pain!
