On March 18, Kate turned 4 and she was so delighted that her day had finally arrived! It has been really entertaining to hear Kate's opinions on what she wanted for her birthday this year. She let us know we could still call her "Kater-tot" even though she is now 4. We're not sure how long she'll let us so we will take it! :)
We usually go out to eat for birthdays, but she requested to eat at home. We ordered takeout and enjoyed this chocolate chip cookie cake together! (She also requested that the cake had to be made by myself, not store-bought.)
Kate is one of the most appreciative children I have ever met. She is so grateful for any gift someone gives her. This was one of her gifts that she received from her Papa. She and her sister love Hatchimals! We didn't take a lot of pictures on her actual birthday because she was pretty sick.
Today she had her birthday party at McDonald's!
Kate requested rainbow colors on her cupcakes in addition to these particular rings (unicorns, rainbows, tiaras).
She posed in front of the cupcakes with some of her recent acquisitions: a Kinder egg toy and a light-up magnet tile!
Side note: I asked her what kind of top/dress she wanted for her birthday and she was quite specific. She wanted it to be blue with an elephant on it. She also said it had to be a shirt! I thought this outfit followed her specifics pretty well.
I don't know if I've ever shared this on our blog, but I organize a local moms group every other Friday. We decided to have Kate's birthday party during our usual play group time during Anna's spring break so that she could be present. Here they are together in the McDonald's play place!
We even pulled some strings to have Curtis there too! This was when we sang "Happy Birthday" to Kate. She loved it!
Here she is right before she blew the candle out!
Kate had a great time with her family and friends!
