On March 18, our sweet daughter Kate finally experienced a birthday at school! She was so excited to pass out chocolate chip muffins (her choice) to all of her classmates. Here's a picture taken by her teacher while she was at school that day:
She's changed a lot since she was born in 2015! We just love this girl! She is a hoot! She knows how to make everyone laugh. She sure can be stubborn and I think it will take her far in life. :) Everyone says that she is my little mini!
She was very specific in her request for her birthday cake. She wanted a chocolate chip cookie cake that she could decorate (though she had some help). If you ask her, she'd tell you she decorated it all herself!
We had a family dinner with Kate's choice of takeout (McDonald's) and then we sang to her. Drew is now participating in the singing and I can't tell you how many times I've listened to the recording! He sings his own version of the birthday song as the rest of us sing the traditional song. It was precious.
I snapped this at the beginning of the opening gifts and she was thrilled. Many family members (and even a few friends) were kind to send her sweet cards and gifts. She had a great day! She is excited to have a mermaid birthday party in the summer when we can celebrate outside and have more friends come.
