Our 2nd Christmas together was a wonderful time of fellowship with friends and family.
Curtis' best friend, Ryan, came to visit us in Savannah right before Christmas. Curtis and I hadn't seen him since February when he visited us in St. Louis. We all had a great time together sharing in how God has been working in us.
We took Ryan to Tybee Island to show him the beach. It was a little chilly in December, but it was nice to spend some quality time with Ryan.
Curtis and I attended the Christmas Eve service at Grace Church of the Islands before we drove to Jacksonville to visit with my family for Christmas. Here's a picture of Curtis with 3 of the high school students (Kathryn, Michael, Sarah).
We had a lovely time with almost all of my mom's side of the family for Christmas. Everyone loved to gather around my niece, Charlotte. She is so adorable and she is getting to be so big! In this picture: my cousin, Jennifer; my aunt, Ginger; my cousin, Jason; my mom; and Charlotte.
We brought our Wii with us and rocked out to Rock Band I & II with our family. Here is a shot of my cousins playing along with an audience. They didn't want to leave because they were having so much fun!
Curtis bought me the Wii Fit for Christmas, so we spent time with my family playing all sort of fun games that helped us to get in shape and work on our posture. I think that playing the Wii Fit with my mom, dad, brother (Ben), and Curtis was my favorite thing about Christmas this year.
The day after Christmas, Curtis and I finally got around to eating the top layer of our wedding cake. This was the first time since we had been married (1 year 6 months later) where we had the opportunity to eat our wedding cake because Curtis and I hadn't been in Jacksonville since our wedding. The cake even had a few of our wedding napkins in with it!
We thought it was only right to go ahead and cut the cake together, just like we did back in 2008.
Sadly, we had some sort of sickness come upon almost all of the Curtis [my maiden name] family 2 days after Christmas. Here Curtis is pictured laying in bed as he was sick. My cat, Regis, is laying beside him trying to help him feel better. I miss Regis!
Overall, Christmas was lots of fun...it just ended somewhat abruptly as everyone ended up getting sick.
