Celebrating Kater Tot

Today, we celebrated Kate on her second birthday!  She wore the same outfit Grammy made that her sister wore for her second also.  (Oops, I guess I forgot about the matching bow!)
We started the day opening her gifts.  Anna made sure to help her whenever she could.
As Kate opened each gift, she would immediately want to start playing with them (or wearing them).  It was really funny!
Kate started wearing her new bows from all her cousins and then she opened her favorite gift given to her: a puppy purse!  It was given to her from Anna.
This was very exciting for Kate because she had been eyeing Anna's since she got one for her birthday last month.
She also loved her new Doodle Pro!  I think Anna wants one now.  They love each other's toys!
Kate decided she wanted a cookie cake for her birthday.  She picked the colors herself!
I'd say she had a good time eating her cake.
She gives us so much delight!
Anna also had a great time celebrating her little sister.
Life is so much fuller with these girls!
Kate decided we should watch Moana while she plays with her new toy.
Surprise, surprise!  Kate also chose to go to Chick-Fil-A for her birthday much like her sister did last month.
Kate excitedly enjoyed her first ice cream while Anna begged for a taste!  (She did share.)  I'd say she had a very nice birthday with our little family. :)

Joint Partay!

This year, we decided to have a birthday party for Anna and Kate together.  Their birthdays are about 3 weeks apart and they have the same friends so it just made sense.  I did the least amount of effort for this party and it was SO nice to have little stress and not try to plan a Pinterest party.
It did take me a little while to find my favorite pictures of Kate's 2nd year and Anna's 4th year:

I also chose my favorite picture of the girls for this banner:
Here it is closer up:
We went to a local gymnastics center called Malone's and I think both kids and adults had a blast!
Kate enjoyed the foam pit.
Some of us were adventurous and swung from the rope.
Kate especially liked telling Charlie where to go.  This was on the big trampoline!
Anna and Claire were so cute together!
Candace, Clara, and Danielle had a good time on the trampoline too!
The kid table!  We had a little hiccup during the party where we almost didn't get pizza when we needed it.  Thankfully, Papa (and Papa John's) saved the day and we got the pizza in time!
 Simeon loved his cupcake!
So did Anna.  Although, Anna only ate the icing!
Kate couldn't really dig into the cupcake until she finished her pizza. :)
I thought it was cute to see Kate, Anna, Penelope & Hannah looking down at the gym.  I guess they didn't get enough time before we came up!
Here's our lovely shot of everyone.  It was really special that Curtis' mom, dad, sister and her boyfriend could come!
A shot of most of the littles:
It was nice spending the day with most of Curtis' family after the party was over.  We had so much fun that we didn't take many pictures!  We did get to swim in their hotel pool the next day before they left and the girls LOVED that!
I think Papa and Grammy did too. :)

Anna is 4!

On February 23, our little girl turned 4.  Actually, Anna will correct me - she's a big girl now!  We started the day with opening her gifts.  She was delighted with her big Elsa pillow.
And her "doggy purse"
In fact, so was her little sister!
She loved her Moana necklace that lights up (although now it only lights up when it wants to).
We went to a playground that she chose and then headed back for lunch and cake with Daddy.  She had a nice ice cream Snoopy cake!  We sang to her every time we had it and it lasted us for about a week.
She was pretty good at blowing the candles out!
A nice green ombre tutu was added to her collection.  As you can see, she's carrying several of her birthday gifts around for the rest of the day.
We went to the birthday girl's restaurant of choice for dinner: Chick-Fil-A!  Of course, her favorite part is trading in her kid's meal toy for ice cream. :)
The next day, we headed to Brown County State Park for the annual Midwest RUF Winter Conference.  It has become a special tradition that is always around Anna's birthday! She loves to see her big and little friends (college students and other campus minister's kids) and go to this indoor waterpark.
Anna enjoyed playing water volleyball with her Daddy.
Kate was pretty excited about the pool too!

We celebrated her birthday (and Kate's) with family and friends the next weekend.  Blog post to come!
