10 months with Kate

It's hard to believe that our little girl is already 10 months old! We are in the process of planning for Anna and Kate's birthday parties.  It's going to be busy over here!
Since Anna's 10 month photo was in a Christmas outfit, I thought this was the perfect time to put Kate in one of her own outfits that was never worn by Anna.  Thanks Ryan & Emily Fields!  For comparison purposes, I will attach Christmas outfit below:
Anna (left) and Kate (right) at 10 months
Our little girls are very different in personality and they are beginning to reflect that in their physical traits also.  They do look like sisters though!  Kate is very interested in the world around her, particularly with toys.
Most of this month was spent in Florida and Georgia.  You can see those 6 posts below!  She celebrated her first Christmas and New Years this month.  She also met her Great Uncle Rick, Great Uncle David, and all of her living Great Grandparents!  I think she is particularly fond of the warm weather and wearing less layered clothing like her mom does!  She has been getting really good at army crawling and is beginning to crawl the normal way a little bit too.  She is able to stand with some assistance, but she isn't pulling up yet.
I love these little legs!
She still doesn't have any teeth!  Here's a few extra pictures of her at 10 months:

I'm not sure why she does this, but she raises one arm often (like the image below).  We like to say that she is praising the Lord!
Everything seems to go in the mouth!

Vacay (Part 6): Catherine's Wedding

Catherine is kind of a big deal in my life.  She is a selfless friend that has pointed me to Jesus for the last 10 years.  She was one of my last roommates before I got married.  I think I probably act the goofiest around this girl (but I think it's amplified with Kelly)!  She was one of my bridesmaids when I got married almost 8 years ago.  And here's some documentation of that:
Oh - and she was one of the reasons we named our daughter Katherine ("Kate")!  So...I was honored (to say the least) that I was asked to be a bridesmaid in her wedding on January 9th.
I didn't get the chance to meet Julian until the day before the wedding, but he is a perfect match for Catherine!
Kate and I traveled down to Boca with Jenna McMicken (pictured above) and her lovely family.  That night, we had Catherine's bachelorette tea party! It was so fun!
On wedding day, we had a party bus to take us around because the bridal party was. that. BIG!
15 bridesmaids (it would have been 17 if everyone could have come!)
12 groomsmen!
It was a beautiful day for a wedding.
Jenna, Catherine and I spent LOTS of time together back in college!
Catherine, Kelly & I formed a prayer group in college.  It really encouraged and refreshed me!  I actually showed Catherine her prayer requests given to me exactly 8 years before on her wedding day.
Barb was a new friend to me, but I had heard so much about her that it didn't seem that I had just met her.  She and I were both roommates to Catherine!
Brandy and I also connected well over the weekend!
In fact, Brandy, Grayson (Catherine's little sister) and I all had picked the same dress.
Note: Catherine gave us 20 dress styles to choose from, but some of us chose the same ones.
The marriage ceremony was beautifully done and very worshipful.  It was so rewarding to see God answer a long-awaited prayer request!
Meanwhile, back at the hotel...the babysitters must have exhausted Kate.  I found her like this.
But I woke her up and we had a great time at the reception!
Tiffany and her son Owen danced with us before the bride and groom left!  It was so much fun!  The next day, Kelly drove Kate and I back to Orlando where we flew back to Indiana.
Kate clearly had enough - she passed out on the flight and was very happy to be reunited with Curtis and Anna.  And that's all folks!!  It only took 6 posts to complete our 16 day trip! Haha.

Vacay (Part 5): Play date & Goodbye to Curtis/Anna

After Savannah, I took a quick trip to Gainesville to visit one of my best friends, Kaylen, for a night.  We had a blast! Again, I forgot to take pictures.  :(

So, I'll move on to the play date we had in the Spring Park.  I wanted to see some of my friends from the Jacksonville area so I asked Ashlee and Marian (2 dear friends from high school that didn't know each other - I knew Ashlee from school and Marian from church) to join me with their children.
From left to right: Anna, Kate, Neil, Maggie, Joshua.
Note: I guess I didn't take any other pictures of Neil, but he was a cute little guy.  I was so glad to meet him during this visit!
Maggie and Kate are about a month apart in age.  I think they got along pretty well!

This is a throwback to one of the first times that Joshua and Anna met back in March 2014.

I am not sure if they remember each other, but they definitely got along well. ;)

Ashlee reminded me that Anna was Joshua's first kiss back in 2013 so I thought I'd put both pictures here.  Anna is a very affectionate little girl.  She loves to give hugs and kisses, but not to everyone!
Before we knew it, it was time for Curtis and Anna to head back to West Lafayette.  Kate and I were sad that they couldn't stay longer, but Curtis needed to prepare himself for the upcoming semester - Purdue classes were starting in less than a week!  We stayed longer for a very special reason - Catherine's wedding (next post)!

Grandma enjoyed a little extra time with Kate before our departure to Boca Raton for the wedding festivities.

Vacay (Part 4): A New Year & Savannah

We came into 2016 in Florida!  We praised the Lord for His provision as we were able to raise our entire 2015 budget by generous donors (churches & individuals) and by God's grace.  If you are one of our supporters (either prayerfully and/or financially), we are so grateful for you!  We couldn't do ministry up at Purdue without you. :)

Here's some adorable pictures of Kate because it was her first new year!

And a comparison shot - coming into the new year in 2014 (with Anna) and 2016 (with Kate):
We then took a weekend trip to Savannah!  I think we were having such a good time and making the most of our time that I really didn't take many pictures.  We visited with a sweet family, the Roulos, and Anna didn't want to leave them!  I really wish I would have taken some pictures of them together.  Anna was also happy to sleep on her friend Audrey's bed.  She looks so tiny in it!
Curtis gave a presentation about our ministry at RUF at our old church, Grace Church of the Islands.  It was so fun to see so many people that we missed and love there!  And then we ate at one of our favorite restaurants, JalapeƱos, with the Arpins and the Bowmans (not pictured).  Melani had a blast with Kate!
I was surprised that Anna actually wanted her picture taken with me below.  I think she really enjoyed Savannah even though she didn't really understand that it's where she was born almost 3 years ago.

Vacay (Part 3): Meeting Great Grandparents

During our trip, Kate met all of her living great-grandparents!  I didn't even realize that until I started this post, that's pretty awesome.
Here she is meeting her Great Grandmom!

4 generations
Here she is with "GG" (Great Granddaddy) and me! Before we met the rest, we had some down time.
We went down to the pool to check out the water.
Anna enjoyed it so much she continued to strip down until she was naked.  We decided we wouldn't put any of those up, but it was hilarious!
We played crochet in the backyard while Grandad hung out with princess Kate in her John Deere outfit (specially worn just for Grandad).
The next day, we went over to Grandpa and Sheila's new house.  Sheila really enjoyed getting to spend time with Kate!

Here's our attempt at a picture with all of us, it's not the best angle, but we did it!  We were glad to spend time and make memories with more of our family while we were visiting Florida. :)
